In 1984 Gary Thrapp established G. Thrapp Jewelers in Indianapolis at the corner of 56th and Illinois. It started as a one-room store and now encompasses the equivalent of three storefronts.
Built on the premise of creating a welcoming environment for clients to shop, a visit to G. Thrapp Jewelers is more like visiting an old friend with a warm, comforting, homey feel that includes two fireplaces. When G. Thrapp first opened its doors, it did not carry a single designer line, but instead simply sold ‘jewelry’.
Since then, the store has picked up over a dozen lines including Penny Preville, Gurhan, Judith Ripka, John Hardy, and was even the first retailer in Indiana to begin carrying David Yurman. Over the years, G. Thrapp has continued to add to its designer lines, recently acquiring several new bridal lines including Sholdt, Martin Flyer, Christian Bauer, and La Reina.
In 2007 G. Thrapp Jewelers embarked on a major expansion and renovation designed to enhance the buying experience and to add more volume to the store. This new space is solely dedicated to the store’s bridal lines so that G. Thrapp may offer more private, personalized consultations. G. Thrapp Jewelers is excited to share its new expanded bridal area and all of its new designer lines with those who love the art of jewelry as much as the store itself!
