We are in love with the new Samantha Louise jewelry! We are particularly fond of her rose gold pieces as rose gold is a current trend according to InStyle magazine. Samantha Louise’s designs are always extremely popular with our clients, and we are confident her new collection will be, too. To inquire about one of the pieces shown in this blog, please call Lauren at (317)255-5555.
Want bands that add something different to your look? Like the multiple band, stacked look? This is the blog for you. We present to you our Beverley K Top Picks & Stacking Tricks…
One of our favorite vintage inspired lines of engagement and wedding bands, Beverley K, will be making a big appearance at this Saturday’s bridal party. Our staff is in love with the collection because there is nothing else quite like it within the industry. A graceful femininity embraces the entire collection; from lacy, vintage filigree to elegant, modern design, Beverley K offers a variety of rich textures and finishes. This collection has something fitting for everyone’s personal style.
Whether you are looking to add some jazz to your engagement ring, start a stack for a different finger or on the right hand, or mix a variety of metals for an everyday look – this is the designer for you! We love to incorporate Beverley K to add a little mixed metal look when framing the engagement ring or stacking on the right hand. Nearly every band comes in white, yellow, rose gold and platinum, and some come with fun colorful stones. Interested to know what some of our favorite looks are? Check out some of the staff pics below:
Sales Associate, Kathy Giles loves the center, alternating size circle band because its simple but elegant and very unique!
Sales Associate, Mary Leppert loves both of these modern stacks with diamonds and blue sapphires.
Marketing Director, Lauren Bauer loves the dainty yellow gold stack because it mixes art deco with a more modern look.
Head Buyer, Dana Friedman loves all of the mixed metal stacked looks, especially with rose gold accents. The criss cross band looks fabulous framed by the other rose gold bands in this stack! Dana loves to wear a stack of four or more styles next to her ring.

From now until our bridal party on April 19th, we are kicking engagement posts into high gear. We are obsessed with everything that is diamond and sparkly, and of course, trendy! G. Thrapp has a variety of colored diamonds, double halo settings, mixed metals, floral detailed, twisted bands and East-West setting engagement rings, all of which were named as The Knot’s “2014 Engagement Ring Trends”. We’ve compiled pictures of rings at G. Thrapp Jewelers that match the trends predicted by The Knot. Which trend do you like the best?
Colorful Diamonds are great for a woman that is really looking to make a unique statement with her engagement ring. G. Thrapp has sold several yellow diamonds and a few pink and blue.
Double Halo engagement settings are popular because they add a significant amount of sparkle and they make the diamond look even larger.
Mixed-Metals are really trendy in the jewelry industry so it is no surprise that people are starting to purchase mixed-metal engagement rings. These Beverley K Collection bands come together to make a flawless stacked look. We love these rings because by combining two metals (namely gold and silver) you never have to worry about your ring matching your other jewelry!
Twisted Bands are a nice way to add a touch of whimsical femininity to an engagement ring, and the soft lines are a great added detail.
Floral Detailed engagement rings are perfect for the woman that wants to throw the traditional setting to the wind. They are very romantic and typically add a touch of femininity to a vintage style ring. As you can see, they are also VERY unique.
East-West Settings actually make the diamond appear larger – this is becoming popular for marquise, ovals and emeralds cut diamonds. G. Thrapp Jewelers has custom designed several east-west rings, including the ring pictured below.

In most cases, simply seeing a piece of jewelry doesn’t trigger that irresistible need to have it. In most cases, the desire stems from learning about the piece and the designer who created it. We had the chance to speak with designer and founder of Samantha Louise Jewelry, Samantha Louise Larkins, and receive an insight into what inspires her to create the breathtaking pieces that make up her collection..
GTJ: When did you realize you had a passion for jewelry?
GTJ: From where do you draw your inspiration?
GTJ: What is your favorite piece you have created?
GTJ: Tell me about some of the new pieces you are working on? What are you plans for SLJ in the future?
SL: G. Thrapp is home. I have never walked into a store where I feel more welcome or at ease and its not just because I am from Indianapolis. G. Thrapp was the first retailer in the nation to take a chance on me and my work. I have grown, learned and evolved because of my partnership with G. Thrapp Jewelers. It is a relationship that I know will continue to flourish in the coming years.

Ron Hami is known for his signature orighami design that closely resembles a honeycomb-type shape – it is present in nearly all of his pieces. His goal is to create pieces that are “wearable, luxurious, and beautiful.” Not only has Ron Hami has been featured in fashion magazines such as Harpers Bazaar, InStyle, Marie Claire, and W, but his designs have been adorned by many celebrities over the years.
At G. Thrapp Jewelers, we carry both the Ron Hami fashion line and bridal line. The combination of colored stones with the traditional honeycomb look is breathtaking. We love his bridal line because his unique, bold fashion style completely transforms what could be a very traditional engagement ring into an beautifully detailed piece unlike anything else on the market.
To see more of his fashion and bridal jewelry lines, stop by G. Thrapp Jewelers or browse our Ron Hami board on Pinterest. Here are a few of our favorite fashion pieces by Ron Hami:
Just when we thought our girl in the Broad Ripple text billboard was about to lose it on her boyfriend for not proposing… They got engaged!! Their relationship, spanning the past year and a half, has had many ups and downs that commuters in Broad Ripple and clients at G. Thrapp have gotten to experience. Our goal in making a “G. Thrapp Couple” was to connect with our viewers in a realistic way and show that we are a relatable store with a sense of humor. If you haven’t gotten a chance to drive by the billboard every two weeks for the past year and a half, chances are you have missed pieces of their text conversation. The entire text billboard saga is pictured below.
BUT do not be fooled just because there was a proposal… we have a surprise for you coming up in the next few weeks…here’s a hint: It has something to do with a party. To be Continued..

The idea of estate jewelry is romantic in itself – it’s a tiny piece of history that you get to share with someone who lived long before your time. G. Thrapp Jewelers is home to one of the best Estate collections in the Midwest – and the best part is that most of the pieces have been collected from Indianapolis families (as opposed to a trade show). These pieces are one-of-a-kind items encompassing many different time periods. Our Estate case boasts jewelry from the best design houses in the industry such as Tiffany & Co., Van Cleef & Arpels and Cartier. Over the years G. Thrapp has sold a variety of Art Deco rings and bracelets, English crystals, Edwardian pins and broaches and Victorian cuff bracelets. Our case is full of unique pendants, broaches, line bracelets and rings.
We have found that pieces from this collection are perfect for the fashion forward woman who has everything. We say that because all the pieces are one-of-a-kind. Women who draw inspiration from different eras are likely to fall in love with our extensive collection of estate jewelry.
Cynthia Ann Hearts
G. Thrapp Jewelers is Cynthia Ann’s number one account in the nation. Last November, we hosted a Cynthia Ann trunk show, and her revitalized vintage heart padlock collection was a best seller. Cynthia Ann introduced the hearts into her collection to bring forward and incorporate a touch of history (as seen in the religious medals). Originally the Antique English padlocks were worn on a bracelet and given to a loved one as a symbol of affection. Before going off to war, gentlemen would leave the bracelet locked around his loved one’s wrist and he would hold the key until his return. The heart shaped padlock was fashionable in the Victorian and Edwardian periods and Cynthia Ann has embellished the locks to bring them into today’s fashionable standards.
The locks are a perfect, one-of-a-kind gift for women of all ages. They are more than religious metals; they are also a fashion statement and a token of love. These pieces are great to layer and you can always add on a new charm to your favorite piece! Our buyer, Dana Friedman, wears her heart padlock on a short chain, and wears her Cynthia Ann religious medal on a longer chain. If you desire a complete look or already have a medal and a heart padlock, Cynthia Ann also has lovely medals, earrings, and bracelets that we adore!
Samantha Louise Earrings
If you’re an avid fan of G. Thrapp Jewelers, you will notice that Samantha Louise practically ALWAYS makes it onto our top gift picks. We love Samantha Louise Jewelry because she’s an Indianapolis native designer, and her collection includes pieces that are great for women of all ages. Sales associate, Mary Leppert said, “Sometimes it can be difficult to find colored stud earrings, but Samantha Louise earrings have an elegant, fresh design that incorporate colors in a way that is unlike anything else in the industry.”
G. Thrapp Jewelers carries a wide variety of shapes, sizes and colors but one thing is true of all of them – they are all simple, elegant and very wearable. Perfect for the woman who believes that “simplicity is the ultimate form of sophistication.”
Unique to G. Thrapp, Bebe & Tay is a distinctive jewelry line created by owner, Gary Thrapp’s wife, Barbi. Since most stones are unique, no two pieces are alike. Her signature line includes healing bracelets using natural stones and charms, featuring trees of life and other religious symbols. Her pieces are trendy and well-priced for those that yearn for the latest jewelry styles, but can’t afford to spend well into the hundreds.
Bebe&Tay’s blush pink pearl bracelets with a pave heart diamond truly embody the spirit of Valentine’s Day. Many wearers of her bracelets like to create a stacked look featuring her creations.
Heather B. Moore
“This collection is not about impulse jewelry; it’s about documenting all that’s important in your life and remembering what shaped you. I am so honored to have the opportunity to make heirloom pieces. And just how all treasured things are passed down through families, this is how your story will be told.” – Heather B. Moore
Whether you are purchasing jewelry for someone young or old, a mother, sister, or daughter, these pieces are great for all ages. Marketing Director, Lauren Bauer, says, “You can truly make a Heather B. Moore necklace your own. I am pretty simple when it comes to jewelry so I chose a short chain with an initial charm, a stone, and a diamond to fit my current taste. In the future, I’ll most likely want to add charms to represent those memories just like Heather B. Moore envisioned.” Like Lauren said, one of the best parts about buying a piece of Heather B. Moore’s charm collection is that you can keep adding on to it, year after year.
Now that you have heard all about our favorite jewelry pieces for Valentine’s Day, you can go fill out your very own Wish List!
