Top Picks & Stacking Tricks: Beverley K

Want bands that add something different to your look? Like the multiple band, stacked look? This is the blog for you. We present to you our Beverley K Top Picks & Stacking Tricks…

One of our favorite vintage inspired lines of engagement and wedding bands, Beverley K, will be making a big appearance at this Saturday’s bridal party. Our staff is in love with the collection because there is nothing else quite like it within the industry. A graceful femininity embraces the entire collection; from lacy, vintage filigree to elegant, modern design, Beverley K offers a variety of rich textures and finishes. This collection has something fitting for everyone’s personal style.

Whether you are looking to add some jazz to your engagement ring, start a stack for a different finger or on the right hand, or mix a variety of metals for an everyday look – this is the designer for you! We love to incorporate Beverley K to add a little mixed metal look when framing the engagement ring or stacking on the right hand. Nearly every band comes in white, yellow, rose gold and platinum, and some come with fun colorful stones. Interested to know what some of our favorite looks are? Check out some of the staff pics below:

Samantha Louise Tells All

In most cases, simply seeing a piece of jewelry doesn’t trigger that irresistible need to have it. In most cases, the desire stems from learning about the piece and the designer who created it. We had the chance to speak with designer and founder of Samantha Louise Jewelry, Samantha Louise Larkins, and receive an insight into what inspires her to create the breathtaking pieces that make up her collection..

GTJ: When did you realize you had a passion for jewelry?

SL: I knew at a young age. My grandmother’s jewelry box was irresistible and I was hooked.  My creative genes guided me into an art degree from the University of San Diego and then on to GIA.  I have loved every moment of my journey in the jewelry industry.

GTJ: From where do you draw your inspiration?

SL: I find that each design informs the next.  I am constantly striving to push the limits of what I create by analyzing what I have created in the past. I try to make it better, easier to wear, bolder, or more versatile. I am inspired by color, art, fashion and more than anything, women.  I strive to create work that women love to wear, that can become a part of their identity, history, and memories.

GTJ: What is your favorite piece you have created?

SL: Oh my gosh that is such a hard one….I have a new favorite every week. This is one that I love and that I will always be proud of… 18K yellow gold, diamonds and moonstone. Truly spectacular in person, the photo hardly does it justice.

 SLJ

GTJ: Who do you envision wearing your jewelry? What is she like?

SL: She is simple, clean, and classic. She is a mom, a business women, and a runner.  She is comfortable in jeans and a teeshirt, or a little black cocktail dress…..I guess she is me.  I make jewelry that I would love to wear and hope that if I love it others will too!

GTJ: Tell me about some of the new pieces you are working on? What are you plans for SLJ in the future?

SL: The coolest new thing we are doing in 2014 is the “Its a Wrap” collection.  They are high end European leather wraps with awesome 18K elements. I LOVE them and I cannot wait to debut the collection spring. Here is a little sneak peek.

GTJ: What is your favorite part about working with G. Thrapp Jewelers? Why did you. choose them as a retailer?

SL: G. Thrapp is home. I have never walked into a store where I feel more welcome or at ease and its not just because I am from Indianapolis.  G. Thrapp was the first retailer in the nation to take a chance on me and my work.  I have grown, learned and evolved because of my partnership with G. Thrapp Jewelers.  It is a relationship that I know will continue to flourish in the coming years.

“Wearable, Luxurious, and Beautiful”- Ron Hami

Ron Hami is known for his signature orighami design that closely resembles a honeycomb-type shape – it is present in nearly all of his pieces. His goal is to create pieces that are “wearable, luxurious, and beautiful.” Not only has Ron Hami has been featured in fashion magazines such as Harpers Bazaar, InStyle, Marie Claire, and W, but his designs have been adorned by many celebrities over the years.

At G. Thrapp Jewelers, we carry both the Ron Hami fashion line and bridal line. The combination of colored stones with the traditional honeycomb look is breathtaking. We love his bridal line because his unique, bold fashion style completely transforms what could be a very traditional engagement ring into an beautifully detailed piece unlike anything else on the market.
